Who are you before and after?

If you can’t be who you naturally are is it really worth the risk of becoming something you’re not? Money, fame, freedom. What’s your price? Can you be bought at all? There are so many things we say we won’t do until times get tough and somebody dangles a large enough incentive in front of our faces.

No matter what you do try to do it with integrity. Have pride in being who you are. Bills have to be paid either way.

Maybe there really is a shift.

What the hell is power?

Control over another person?
More wealth?
The most fame?
The ability to manipulate large groups of people without them even knowing?
Is it being connected to the most important decision makers on the planet?

I have no clue. What I do know is that we all as individuals seek more and more of it as time passes. I also realize that more of us are actually getting closer to obtaining it. Some more than others, but still, those in power now won’t be in power forever.

Why do you do what you do?

Is it function of your core self?

Do you do it for fame and fortune?

Are there lives on the line?

Is it meditative?

Therapeutic?

Freeing?

Why do you wake up and get dressed every single day?

These questions are important not only to discover but answer.

Always be re-evaluating what you do and why. Sometimes we lose focus and become robots lost within the technology and habitual behavior of just going through the motions.

Try not to just get through.
Be in the day. Live in it. Remember the struggle. Remember the reasons.
It might change the way you live.

What good fortunate means to you is up to you

To often we try to reach a preconceived notion of success. We use and abuse money, fame, and material things just to slowly but surely realize that none of it really mattered as much as we thought.

Not all of us believe it doesn’t. Being rich or poor is a choice. In both cases you can have it all and feel like shit or have nothing and feel like one million bucks.

Perception of wealth and good fortune will take you far or hold you back depending on how you choose to do things.

Like I said in a previous post, we really just want love and respect. We want to enjoy our work and make an honest living because of it. Everything else is a bonus.

Don’t get caught

Sometimes we get caught up. In the money, the fame, the lights, and fancy clothes. We let the crowd sway our decisions and control our moods.

This always causes you to take your eyes off of your most important problem, project, or idea.

Stick with what stays with you, and never mind what comes and goes.

Who’s fault is it?

It’s your fault if you give up and settle. It’s your fault if you don’t create more opportunities for yourself. It’s your fault if you don’t meet the right people. It’s your fault if you are unhappy. It’s your fault if you miss time with your loved ones. It’s your fault if you have to deal with the ugly side of fame. It’s your fault if you don’t get that degree you’ve been dreaming of. It’s your fault if you don’t earn respect from your peers. It’s your fault if your anti-social. It’s your fault if things don’t work out.

Before you point, look in the mirror and readjust.
